The 6th INTERPOL International DNA Users' Conference for Investigative Officers took place at the Interpol headquarters in Lyon, France on September 22 to 24, 2010. Over 120 forensic scientists, DNA database custodians, law enforcement and heads of DNA laboratories from over 50 countries, came together to discuss international co-operation on exchanging DNA profiles.  INTERPOL's Secretary General called for an increase in international sharing of DNA profiles among more countries as well as for more effective use of DNA technology and best-practice standards in police investigations.
